Getting Started

5 questions

Installing S2T Executive is straightforward:

  • Log into the S2T Customer Portal using your registered email
  • Navigate to the Downloads section on your dashboard
  • Click "Download S2T Executive" to get the Windows installer (.exe)
  • Run the installer and follow the on-screen prompts
  • Launch S2T Executive from your Start menu or desktop shortcut

The installer handles all dependencies automatically. No additional software is required.

S2T Executive runs on most modern Windows systems:

  • Operating System: Windows 10 (64-bit) or Windows 11
  • Processor: Intel Core i5 or equivalent (any modern multi-core CPU)
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM minimum (16 GB recommended for large assessments)
  • Storage: 500 MB free disk space for installation
  • Network: Internet connection required for AI provider communication

S2T Executive is designed to be lightweight. Most of the processing happens via your AI provider's API, so local hardware requirements are modest.

To add your AI API key:

  • Open S2T Executive and navigate to Settings (gear icon)
  • Select the AI Provider tab
  • Choose your provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, or other supported providers)
  • Paste your API key in the designated field
  • Click Validate to verify the key works
  • Save your settings

Your API key is stored locally on your machine and encrypted at rest. S2T never sees or stores your API key on our servers.

S2T Executive supports multiple AI providers to give you flexibility:

  • OpenAI: GPT-4, GPT-4 Turbo, GPT-3.5 Turbo
  • Anthropic: Claude 3 Opus, Claude 3 Sonnet, Claude 3 Haiku
  • Azure OpenAI: For enterprise customers with Azure deployments

You bring your own API key and pay the provider directly at their standard rates. S2T does not markup AI costs. We recommend GPT-4 or Claude 3 Sonnet for the best balance of quality and cost.

Running your first assessment takes about 5 minutes to set up:

  • Ensure your AI API key is configured (see above)
  • Click New Assessment from the main dashboard
  • Select an assessment template (Technology Landscape, Process Mapping, etc.)
  • Enter basic information about your organization or project
  • Click Start Interview to begin the AI-guided discovery

The AI will ask you questions about your current state. Answer naturally - there are no wrong answers. The assessment adapts based on your responses to dig deeper into relevant areas.

Technical Issues

5 questions

If your API key validation fails, check these common issues:

  • Correct provider selected: Make sure you selected the right provider (OpenAI vs Anthropic)
  • No extra spaces: Copy-paste can sometimes add invisible characters. Try retyping the key
  • API key is active: Log into your provider's dashboard and verify the key hasn't been revoked
  • Billing is current: Most providers require an active payment method even for free tier usage
  • Rate limits: If you've exceeded your quota, the key may temporarily fail validation

If issues persist, generate a new API key from your provider and try again. Keys can sometimes become corrupted during copy-paste.

Assessment speed depends primarily on your AI provider's response time. Here are ways to improve performance:

  • Use a faster model: GPT-3.5 Turbo or Claude 3 Haiku respond faster than larger models
  • Check provider status: OpenAI and Anthropic occasionally have capacity issues. Check their status pages
  • Reduce context size: For very long assessments, consider breaking into smaller segments
  • Network connection: A stable internet connection reduces timeouts and retries
  • Off-peak hours: AI providers are often faster during off-peak hours (early morning, late night)

Note: Using faster models may slightly reduce response quality. GPT-4 and Claude 3 Sonnet offer the best balance for most users.

S2T Executive includes automatic update checking:

  • When a new version is available, you'll see a notification in the app
  • Click Update Now to download and install automatically
  • The app will restart with the new version

To manually check for updates: Go to Help > Check for Updates

If automatic updates fail, you can always download the latest version from the Customer Portal and install it over your existing installation. Your settings and data will be preserved.

Here are the most common errors and their solutions:

  • "API Rate Limit Exceeded": You've hit your provider's usage limit. Wait a few minutes or upgrade your plan
  • "Authentication Failed": Your API key is invalid or expired. Re-enter or regenerate your key
  • "Context Length Exceeded": Your assessment content is too long for the model. Try a model with larger context or split the assessment
  • "Network Error": Check your internet connection. The app needs to reach your AI provider's servers
  • "Insufficient Quota": Add credits to your AI provider account or upgrade your tier

For errors not listed here, contact support@s2tconsulting.com with a screenshot of the error.

To reset S2T Executive to default settings:

  • Go to Settings > Advanced
  • Click Reset to Defaults
  • Confirm the reset when prompted

This resets preferences and settings but does not delete your saved assessments or data. To completely start fresh:

  • Uninstall S2T Executive from Windows Settings > Apps
  • Delete the folder: %APPDATA%\S2T-Executive
  • Reinstall from the Customer Portal

Warning: Complete reset will delete all local data including saved assessments.

Accelerators & Billing

5 questions

Accelerators are pre-built implementation packages that solve common technical challenges:

  • Integration accelerators: Ready-to-deploy code for connecting systems (OAuth, API integrations, etc.)
  • Infrastructure accelerators: CloudFormation/SAM templates for AWS deployments
  • Security accelerators: Pre-configured security patterns and credential management

Each accelerator includes complete source code, documentation, configuration guides, and deployment instructions. You purchase once and own the code forever - no ongoing licensing fees.

View available accelerators on our Accelerators page.

Accelerators use simple flat-rate pricing based on complexity:

  • Starter ($500): Essential templates and basic integrations
  • Professional ($2,500): Full-featured implementation packages
  • Enterprise ($10,000): Complex multi-system orchestrations

Every accelerator includes a 90-day deployment guarantee. If you can't deploy within 90 days, you can request a review for credit or refund.

See detailed pricing on our Pricing page.

Every accelerator purchase includes:

  • Complete source code: Fully functional, production-ready code you can modify
  • Technical documentation: Architecture diagrams, API references, and configuration guides
  • Deployment instructions: Step-by-step guides for your target environment
  • Configuration templates: Environment-specific settings and examples
  • Email support: 90 days of support for deployment questions
  • ROI analysis option: Submit your ROI for potential price adjustment

Higher tiers (Professional, Enterprise) include additional customization options and priority support.

Our 90-day deployment guarantee protects your purchase:

  • You have 90 days from purchase to deploy the accelerator
  • If you can't deploy within 90 days, contact us to request a review
  • We'll assess why deployment wasn't possible (technical issues, scope mismatch, etc.)
  • Based on the review, we may offer credit toward a different accelerator or a partial/full refund

The guarantee exists because we believe in the value of our accelerators. If one doesn't work for your situation, we want to make it right.

To request a refund:

  • Email support@s2tconsulting.com with your order details
  • Explain why the accelerator didn't meet your needs
  • We'll review your request within 2 business days

Refunds are evaluated case-by-case. Common reasons for approval:

  • Technical incompatibility with your environment
  • Accelerator scope didn't match the documented description
  • Unable to deploy within 90 days due to legitimate blockers

Note: ROI-based adjustments (where 5% of your ROI is less than the purchase price) are handled separately through our ROI guarantee process.

Security & Privacy

5 questions

S2T Executive stores all assessment data locally on your machine:

  • Assessment data: Stored in %APPDATA%\S2T-Executive\data
  • Configuration: Stored in %APPDATA%\S2T-Executive\config
  • Exports: Saved to your chosen location when you export

S2T does not store your assessment data on our servers. The only data that leaves your machine goes directly to your chosen AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic) for processing. Even that data is sent via encrypted HTTPS connections.

No. S2T Consulting does not have access to:

  • Your API keys (stored encrypted on your local machine only)
  • Your assessment content or responses
  • Your generated deliverables or exports
  • Any data you enter into S2T Executive

The application communicates directly with your AI provider using your API key. S2T's servers are only contacted for:

  • License validation (your email and license key only)
  • Update checks (version number only)
  • Anonymous usage analytics (if you opt in)

Read our full Privacy Policy for details.

When you run an assessment, the following is sent to your AI provider:

  • The assessment template prompts
  • Your responses to interview questions
  • Context from previous questions in the session (for continuity)

Important considerations:

  • OpenAI and Anthropic have their own data handling policies
  • By default, OpenAI does NOT use API data for training (opt-out by default)
  • Anthropic does NOT use API data for training
  • Consider your provider's data retention policies when entering sensitive information

We recommend reviewing your chosen provider's privacy policy and terms of service.

Yes. S2T Executive is designed with enterprise security in mind:

  • Local-first architecture: Data stays on your machines, not our servers
  • BYOK (Bring Your Own Key): Use your organization's API keys with your provider agreements
  • Azure OpenAI support: Use your enterprise Azure deployment for additional compliance
  • No data exfiltration: We cannot access your assessment data
  • Encrypted storage: Local data and credentials are encrypted at rest

For organizations with specific compliance requirements (SOC 2, HIPAA, etc.), we recommend using Azure OpenAI with your organization's compliant deployment.

Read more on our Security page.

Since your data is stored locally, you have complete control:
